Educational Opportunities

TWAC offers a number of educational programs per year to advance the professionalism and education of our members and the public. Expand the tabs to the right to learn more about annual offerings. Check out the Events page for a listing of upcoming events and links to register.

  • This is a voluntary continuing education program available to Tree Wardens and Deputy Tree Wardens. Continuing Education Units (CEU) are available at all TWAC events, as well as partner events. Participants in this program must earn 5.0 credits per year. Enrollment in this program is from one year of sign-up and costs $20 per year.

  • Each year, TWAC holds an Annual Meeting during which we hold elections for the Board of Directors and a graduation ceremony for the recent Tree Warden School Graduates.

  • Lunch and Learns are mini-workshops offering CEU opportunities and held twice a year at various locations across the state. These events are usually two hours long and take place during the lunch hour.

  • The Tree Wardens’ Association offers one webinar per year, often held in the winter months during the lunch hour. These events offer the opportunity to bring in speakers from all over the country.

  • Often described as the favorite event of the year, the fall picnic is held the second Friday in September at Hammonasset Beach State Park. This event features a morning of educational programming followed by a pizza truck lunch and social gathering. Several attendees camp out and make a weekend of it.

  • Branching Out Together: Partnership in Urban and Community Forestry in Connecticut is a joint event put on by the Tree Wardens’ Association of CTM The Connecticut Tree Protective Association, The CT Urban Forest Council, and the Conn College Arboretum. It is held annually in March at Conn College in New London, CT.
