Fall Picnic: Tree Wardens in the Field

Developing a Policy on Tree Risk Assessments

Mark Duntemann

This engaging outdoor session will take participants through several field exercises for developing a policy on conducting tree risk assessments. The exercises will include work on all three levels of assessment and discussions on the applicability of each. An additional exercise will do a deep dive on developing an understanding of occupancy rates. Finally, a handout and discussion will highlight a strategy for developing inspection cycles that are reasonable, practical, and proportionate.

Event includes hands on learning, an update from CT Agricultural Experiment Station scientists, and pizza truck lunch followed by social gathering.
